Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Betwixtle, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the game.

If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, use Betwixtle only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

The game

Betwixtle is a free daily word game. Players try to find words beginning and ending with the displayed letters during a timed round. The daily built-in word list and, when needed, Free Dictionary API results determine whether a submission is accepted. A rejected word may still be valid in another dictionary, language, spelling, or context.

The schedule, word list, scoring, timer, streak rules, and other game features may change. Games or results may be corrected when needed to address mistakes, technical issues, abuse, or fairness.

Limited license

peanutgames gives you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and play Betwixtle for personal, non-commercial use while these Terms remain in effect.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, redistribute, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from substantial portions of the game except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Betwixtle or interfere with its operation. This includes attempting to damage the site, overwhelm its infrastructure, bypass security measures, distribute malicious code, gain unauthorized access, or use automated systems in a way that disrupts normal access for others.

You may discuss strategies and share your own results. Do not falsely present yourself as peanutgames or imply an endorsement that does not exist.

Scores, streaks, and availability

Scores and streaks are for entertainment only. They have no monetary value, cannot be transferred, and do not create a right to any prize or reward.

Game history is stored in your browser when saving is enabled. It may be lost if you disable saving, clear browser data, switch devices or browsers, use private browsing, or experience a technical failure. peanutgames is not responsible for restoring local scores or streaks.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Betwixtle. We do not promise that a puzzle will be available every day or that access will always be uninterrupted.

Ownership

Betwixtle, its name, logos, visual design, game presentation, software, and original content are owned by peanutgames or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Dictionary words and general word-game ideas are not claimed as exclusive property.

Any feedback you voluntarily send may be used by peanutgames without payment or obligation, but you retain ownership of any rights you already have in that feedback.

Privacy and third-party services

The Privacy Policy explains Betwixtle's browser storage, privacy choices, dictionary requests, and hosting-related data. Betwixtle uses Firebase Hosting and Free Dictionary API, which provides dictionary data from Wiktionary. Your use of third-party device, browser, sharing, clipboard, dictionary, or hosting features may also be governed by those providers' terms and policies.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Betwixtle is provided "as is" and "as available." peanutgames disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

Word-list decisions, scores, and statistics may contain errors. Betwixtle is an entertainment product and should not be relied on as an authoritative dictionary, educational assessment, or professional service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, peanutgames and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, scores, streaks, profits, goodwill, or access arising from Betwixtle.

If liability cannot legally be excluded, the total liability arising from Betwixtle will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use Betwixtle during the twelve months before the claim or ten US dollars. Betwixtle is currently offered without charge.

These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes and severability

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Betwixtle, our practices, or legal requirements. The updated date will appear at the top. Continuing to use the game after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
